Greetings!
Are you ready to take a trip thorough HISTORY?
You have here a very unique book. It’s a history book, a literature book, a coloring book, and an education tool that is FUN!
You can use crayons, markers, or even paint to bring your heroes of history to life!
Led by the terrific poetry of Harriett Bannon, SUFFRAGETTES introduces you to the leading historical figures of the fight for women in vote in the United States of America.
Did you know that women having the right to vote in elections is only 100 years old here in 2020?
That’s right. It took until 1920 for the Constitution to allow women to have a voice in America’s elections.
Moreover, the historical heroes who led this cause are themselves some of the country’s strongest and most powerful women. However, you may not know who many of them are. This book will introduce you to some of them.
This book will also introduce you to occupations and careers that women once were unable to do due to their being women.
Each illustration comes with a verse of the poem. As you color the pictures, read the verse and think about what the world around you looks like today. How different are women’s rights today compared to those in 1920 and before?
As you color the pictures of the Heroes of Suffrage and read their biographies, think about what the world today looks like for women in their being leaders. Are women more powerful in 2020 than 1920? If so, in what ways?
There is also a glossary in the back of the book to assist in your understanding key words that you may not be familiar with. If it is ITALICIZED, then it is in the glossary.
