Austin Allran—writer, attorney and elected official—has written numerous short stories, poems and newspaper articles. He has received awards from the N.C. Writers’ Network (short story) and the Hugh T. Lefler Award (historical biography).
The Legend of the Isle of Cats is his first novel.
A life-long resident of Hickory, North Carolina, Austin lives there with his wife, Judy. He is a proud father and grandfather.

Since 2017, Redhawk Publications at Catawba Valley Community College has been proud to bring distinctive voices and original books to life, with more than 200 titles published so far.
