John Sigmon has witnessed his family’s land south of Newton go from family farm to family attraction. He grew up on those rolling hills of south-central Catawba County, remembering the work done by his grandfather and his parents help to build a genuine treasure, that is now Catawba Farms. In July of 2021, John sat down to tell the story of the farm he knew, how special it was to grow up there, and how it transformed into the showplace it is today. He relates all that went before, that began with his ancestors over two centuries ago.
